The NTC Chairman explained his team has been working tirelessly with the Congress Planning Committee and Electoral Committee to ensure the success of the National Congress, themed “Redemption Congress, Repositioning the Youth Council for Greatness”. With preparations at an advanced stage, the NYCN is poised to embark on a new chapter in its history, focusing on repositioning the organization for greater impact and effectiveness in advocating for youth development in Nigeria .

The NTC Chairman recalled a pivotal moment in the National Youth Council of Nigeria’s (NYCN) history, specifically August 7, 2025, when the National Management Committee Meeting convened. This meeting was prompted by a written demand from a two-thirds majority of Member Organizations and State Chapters, leading to the dissolution of the two factional National Executive Councils led by Comrades Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo and Solomon Adodo due to various grounds and offenses.

The NTC leadership said a significant progress has been made in preparation for the National Elective Congress, themed “Redemption Congress, Repositioning the Youth Council for Greatness.” Both the Congress Planning Committee and Electoral Committee have reached an advanced stage, with meticulous planning underway to ensure a credible and successful event. This Congress aims to reposition the NYCN for greater impact and effectiveness in advocating for youth development in Nigeria, Adedamola Said

He further explained that the NTC has secured a convenient location in Abuja for its upcoming National Congress, with adequate security arrangements in place to ensure a smooth and successful event. This development marks a significant milestone in the organization’s efforts to promote youth development and empowerment in Nigeria.

The NYCN leadership expresses heartfelt gratitude to State Chapters and Voluntary Youth Organizations for their unwavering support and dedication, past leaders and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions and guidance, and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development for its supervisory role in ensuring transparency and accountability. These efforts underscore the NYCN’s commitment to promoting youth development and empowerment in Nigeria.

In a significant step towards promoting peaceful coexistence and harmonious competition, five presidential aspirants of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) have signed a Peace Accord. The aspirants expressed confidence in the electoral process and the integrity of the Electoral Committee, pledging to abide by the rules and outcome of the election. This gesture demonstrates their commitment to the well-being of the organization and sets a positive tone for the National Congress.

As the NYCN prepares for this momentous occasion, we wish all delegates a safe trip to Abuja and look forward to a successful National Congress. The Peace Accord signing ceremony is a testament to the aspirants’ dedication to peaceful competition and their willingness to work together for the betterment of the organization. With this positive development, the stage is set for a successful Congress that will shape the future of the NYCN and its role in promoting youth development in Nigeria.
