Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has congratulated the people of Enugu and Nigerians at large as the country marks its 65th Independence anniversary, describing the day as a reminder of the power of unity, sacrifice, and collective progress.
In his Independence Day message, Governor Mbah said Nigeria’s journey since 1960 demonstrates what citizens can achieve when united, adding that the sacrifices being made today will secure a better tomorrow for the nation.
“Though this year’s celebration may understandably be low-key, the significance of our national strides remains profound,” he noted. “These strides are manifest in the remarkable achievements recorded across key sectors and in the bold reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which are bringing stability to the Nigerian economy. The sacrifices may be huge today, but there is no doubt that the end will vindicate the decisions if we stay the course.”

Governor Mbah highlighted the reforms and developmental strides in Enugu State under his administration, pointing to initiatives across education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure.
According to him, “From moribund assets roaring back to life, to Ndi Enugu enjoying a renewed sense of security; from our children transitioning into 260 Smart Green Schools, to our rural communities accessing modern healthcare through 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres; and from improved transport systems to modern infrastructure, Enugu is firmly on the pathway to turnaround and exponential growth.”
The Governor urged citizens to use the independence anniversary as an opportunity to renew their covenant with the nation, embrace unity, and sustain the optimism that has kept Nigeria moving forward.
“Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Ndi Enugu,” he declared, while praying for God’s blessings on Enugu State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
