Fake lawyer arrested in delta state during attempt to defend client in court

A man posing as a lawyer was apprehended at the magistrate court in Orhunwhorhun, Delta State in an attempt to defend a client in the court room.

In a video circulating on X (formerly known as Twitter), a woman can be heard shouting repeatedly:

“You are not a lawyer! Fake lawyer! You are not a lawyer!”

Other court attendees joined in, mobbing the man as he pleaded to make a phone call, but they refused, insisting, “We are taking you to the station.”

The viral clip has sparked widespread reactions, with many expressing disbelief at how the man managed to enter the courtroom in attempt to defend a client despite not being a licensed lawyer.

The incident highlights the importance of verifying legal credentials to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s judicial system.

This dramatic confrontation serves as a reminder that even in a formal setting like a courtroom, justice can be enforced swiftly when rules are flouted, and the public is quick to hold wrongdoers accountable.
