Gary Neville hails Moises Caicedo as the Premier League’s best midfielder.
Former Manchester United defender and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has described Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo as the best midfielder in the Premier League following his dominant display in the Blues’ thrilling 2–1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.
Neville made the bold claim while commentating on the match at Stamford Bridge, which saw young Brazilian star Estevao Willian score a dramatic 95th-minute winner to seal all three points for Chelsea.

During the post-match analysis, fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp praised Caicedo’s commanding performance in midfield, describing him as “world-class.”
What Neville said
Neville went a step further, declaring the Ecuadorian the top performer in his position across the league.

“He’s the best midfield player in the league at this moment in time, and I’m comfortable saying that,” Neville said, as quoted on X.
He added, “Gravenberch last season, and maybe Declan Rice and Rodri, obviously, for the last few years. But now, I think at this time, we can say that Caicedo is the best midfield player in the league, and he’s performing like that.”

Caicedo opened the scoring for Chelsea in the first half with a thunderous strike from the edge of the box before Liverpool equalised through Darwin Núñez.
However, Estevao’s late heroics restored Chelsea’s lead, sealing a memorable win for Enzo Maresca’s men.

Neville later expanded on his comments, insisting Caicedo’s current form puts him among the elite in world football.
“Tell me a better all-round midfielder in world football on current form. I don’t think there is one. Caicedo is one of the best, if not the best, midfielder in the world right now, and he’s showing that game after game,” Neville said.

The Ecuadorian international has been a standout performer under Maresca this season.
