The member representing Aninri/Awgu/ Oji River Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. (Engr.) Anayo Onwuegbu, has described teachers as nation builders, who nurture minds, shape characters and source of inspiration to future leaders.
Hon. Onwuegbu poured encomiums to teaachers all over the globe and those from his federal constituency of Aninri, Awgu and Oji River local government areas of Enugu State, as they marked the 2025 World Teachers Day on Sunday, October 4th, 2025.
He paid glowing tribute to teachers all over the world for their invaluable contributions to the society.
His words, “As the world marks World Teachers’ Day, I join millions around the globe in celebrating teachers for their indispensable roles in shaping the society. Teachers are Nation builders who nurture minds, shape characters and inspire leaders of tomorrow”.
He noted that teachers play an indispensable role in shaping society, from classrooms in urban centers to schools in remote rural communities, guiding children with patience, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose.
Commenting on the theme of this year’s celebration tagged, “Teachers: Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future,” Hon.Onwuegbu said it is timely and inspiring, reflecting the vital role teachers continue to play in navigating global challenges through education and innovation.
He stated, “In a time of uncertainty and change, our teachers have continued to lead with courage, creativity, and resilience. They remain the beacon of hope, equipping our children with the knowledge and values needed to build a better future,”
He expressed gratitude to all teachers within Aninri, Awgu, and Oji-River local government areas, acknowledging their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the constituency.
“To every teacher across Aninri, Awgu, and Oji-River local government areas, I thank you all immensely for your dedication, patience, and tireless service to humanity, . Your labour is shaping the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow,” he added.
Hon. Onwuegbu in his goodwill message also described teachers as the cornerstone of every successful society.
He concluded, “Today and always, we celebrate you. Happy World Teachers’ Day.”
