Four leading figures in Nigerian football have been appointed to key FIFA standing committees, marking another proud moment for the nation’s representation in global football administration.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has been named to the FIFA Men’s Club Competitions Committee, the powerful body that oversees the structure and governance of international club tournaments.
Gusau, who succeeded Amaju Pinnick as NFF president in October 2022, will now play an active role in shaping the future of FIFA’s elite club competitions.
Also earning recognition is Aisha Falode, the chairperson of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, who has been appointed to the FIFA Media and Communications Committee.

Legal luminary Abdulhakeem Mustapha (SAN) has been selected to serve on FIFA’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee, which focuses on promoting inclusivity and fairness across world football.
Meanwhile, former NFF president Amaju Pinnick retained his international influence after being re-appointed as Deputy Chair of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee.
Reacting to the appointments, Pinnick expressed his delight, saying, “I wholeheartedly congratulate President Gusau, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, SAN, and Aisha Falode on their well-deserved appointments.”
