Chief Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji has resigned his position as Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology.
Nnaji tendered his resignation on Tuesday, October 7th evening. He thanked President Tinubu for giving him an opportunity to serve Nigeria.
The Enugu-born politicuan was among the first set of 29 ministerial appointments made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s in August 2023.
A press statement from the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made available to newsmen stated that the President has accepted Nnaji’s resignation.
It reads,”President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.
“President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
“He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
“Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
“President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours”.
