Drama as tailors' union members beat up woman for refusing to join them

A viral video making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) has left many Nigerians outraged after members of a tailors’ union were caught on camera assaulting a woman who allegedly refused to join their association.

The disturbing video, shared by user @Teniola, showed a woman surrounded by onlookers, crying helplessly with her hand on her head.

The incident happened after some female members of a tailor union stormed the woman’s shop to beat her and seize her sewing machine because she declined to register with their group.

In the viral clip, another woman could be heard confronting the attackers in anger, defending the victim and questioning their actions.

“Is it by force to join a union? See how you rough-handled your fellow woman. You people are wicked! Did you buy machine for her?”

The victim, still shaken and in tears, could barely speak as sympathizers gathered around to comfort her.

The video has since sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians condemning the tailors’ union and calling for the arrest of those involved.
