Egypt on Wednesday became the third African country to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after cruising past Djibouti 3-0 in Casablanca.

The Pharaohs, who have featured at three previous World Cups, secured top spot in Group A with one game to spare, ensuring their passage to North America.

The win means Egypt now joins fellow North African sides Morocco and Tunisia as confirmed African representatives at the global tournament.

In another explosive qualifier, Ghana’s Black Stars boosted their chances with a commanding 5-0 demolition of the Central African Republic at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Morocco.

With one game remaining, the Black Stars are now on the brink of confirming their place at the World Cup.
