Gabrielle Union is sharing a core part of her fitness routine.
Speaking with PEOPLE for an exclusive interview, the 52-year-old actress and entrepreneur revealed that she has incorporated a popular mind-body exercise into her ongoing health journey to stay fit.
“I’ve gone to three Pilates [classes] this week — I feel ready for a triathlon,” she said while attending the Peabody Trailblazer Award ceremony honoring Questlove on Oct. 10.

“I swear by Pilates, lightweight training, dance parties with Robin [Thede] and the rest of our friends,” Union explained.
“But yeah, and then everything in moderation,” she added.
Aside from Pilates, weight training and dance parties, the Bring It On and Love & Basketball star is gearing up for her 53rd birthday on Oct. 29.
“Hopefully my husband takes me out on the town,” Union said of her partner — retired NBA star Dwyane Wade — who will be in Italy with her at the time while she’s filming a project in the European country.

The couple celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30. At the time, Union marked the occasion with an Instagram post and a heartfelt caption.
“Eleven years of marriage and I’m still waking up next to my best friend laughing through the adventures, dancing through the challenges, and raiding the snack cabinet together. This love feels like the best sleepover we get to call home,” she wrote.

Union continued, “Thank you to everyone who continue to pray over our union, wade beside us, and pour into our family we don’t take it for granted. Here’s to more years of love, laughter, and everything in between. Forever, to eternity, and to us. 🥂✨.”
