The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, Sami Gomo III, has made a remarkable gesture by converting a N100 million gift from his business partners, Green Way Agrotech, into a donation to the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, Kebbi State.
A statement by spokesman of the Emirate and Sadaukin Zuru, Abdullahi Idris Zuru said the act showcases the Emir’s commitment to education and the well-being of his people.
“Specifically, the Emir announced that the N100M should be used for research purposes and payment of scholarship for qualified indigent students whose parents couldn’t afford the monetary requirement for admission.
“Sanusi Sami Gomo lll further observed that his decision will considerably complement the efforts of the state Governor Comrade Governor Nasir Idris in improving the standard of education in Kebbi State.
“The Emir believes his appointment was destined by Allah, and this act is a way of demonstrating gratitude to Allah for His favour and blessing.
“The Emir’s decision to support education in the emirate is commendable, especially considering the impact it can have on the socio-economic fortunes of the people.
“By supporting research and providing scholarships, the Emir is investing in the future socio-economic development of the emirate,” the statement concluded.
