The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three notorious drug dealers and recovered more than 23,000 illicit drugs during coordinated raids across Garki, Fagam, and Maigatari divisions.
Police spokesperson SP Shiisu Lawan Adam said in a statement on Monday that the operations, carried out on October 18, 2025, were part of an intelligence-led effort to dismantle drug networks operating within the state and beyond.
According to him, a total of 23,944 assorted illicit drugs were seized, including 13,505 Exol tablets, 1,583 D5, 3,572 Tramadol, 565 Diazepam, 2,469 Rubber Solution, 886 wraps and blocks of cannabis (Indian hemp), Sock and Die, Akurkura, 340 Farin Malam, and other assorted intoxicating substances.
SP Shiisu described the seizure as “one of the largest anti-drug operations in recent times in Jigawa,” adding that it underscores the Command’s commitment to tackling drug trafficking and abuse, especially among the youth.

He said the suspects, who have been on the police radar for a long time, are currently in custody and undergoing investigation. “They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of preliminary inquiries,” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved for their “gallant efforts” and reaffirmed the Command’s zero-tolerance stance against drug-related crimes. He also appealed to residents to support the police by providing credible information that could help track and arrest criminals.
“The Jigawa State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to safeguard the lives and well-being of all citizens through proactive and intelligence-driven operations,” the statement added.
