President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially submitted the name of Dr Bernard Doro from Plateau State to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as a Federal Minister.
The nomination follows a cabinet reshuffle after Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, was elected National Chairman of the ruling party.
According to presidential aides, Doro’s nomination was finalised after internal consultations to fill key vacancies, including the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology. The Senate is now tasked with vetting and confirming his appointment.

Dr Doro, born January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, has over twenty years of experience across healthcare, pharmaceutical administration, strategic management, and community development in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice, and an MBA focusing on IT-based business strategy.
He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with frontline NHS experience in urgent care, GP practices, and hospital settings.
Community and leadership contributions
In addition to his medical and administrative expertise, Doro has led youth mentorship programs and social impact projects both locally and internationally.
If confirmed, he will join the Federal Executive Council, contributing to policy development and national programmes, particularly in healthcare, innovation, and community engagement.
His nomination aligns with the administration’s emphasis on professional competence and technical expertise in governance. The confirmation process is expected to be concluded in the coming weeks.
