Nollywood actress Habibat Jinad recently opened up about her complicated relationship with fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji, revealing that he had blocked her for four years.
In an Instagram video, Jinad reflected on their early days in the film industry, when both were starting out before achieving fame and success. She shared a particularly hurtful experience that left a lasting impression on her.
Jinad explained that she once invited Lateef to star in one of her films, only to be met with a surprising response. According to her, the actor told her that he preferred to work only with “fortunate” people.
She recalled, “There was a time I wanted to shoot a movie and asked Lateef Adedimeji to be part of it. He told me straight that he only wants to act in movies with fortunate people. I was hurt at first, but I chose to move forward.”
Despite feeling disappointed, Jinad emphasized that she did not harbor any ill feelings toward him. However, her attempts to reconnect a few months later with another producer ended in shock when she realized she had been blocked.
“I tried reaching out to him again, only to discover I had been blocked for about four years. He finally unblocked me in January 2025,” she said, admitting that she never understood why it happened.
Jinad clarified that her decision to speak about the incident was not to create drama but to highlight how fame can sometimes change people in the industry.
