Nigerian rapper Erigga has shared his thoughts on the ongoing rift between hip-hop artists Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez, describing the feud as one that generates attention but ultimately damages the music culture.
Speaking during an interview on Yanga 89.9 FM, which surfaced online on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the rapper said that while beefs between artists tend to attract buzz, they do not contribute meaningfully to the growth of the hip-hop scene.
“Beef brings traction, but it doesn’t help the culture,” Erigga stated bluntly. He explained that the excitement people show toward such rivalries often comes from a love for drama rather than genuine appreciation for hip-hop.
“The room now is somehow, not because they love hip-hop, but because they love seeing two people go at each other,” he said. According to him, fans are quick to engage when artists are feuding, yet remain silent when there are positive developments worth celebrating in the industry.
Erigga clarified that he has no personal ties to either Odumodublvck or Blaqbonez, stressing that his comments stem from an objective perspective. “Odumodu is not my guy, Black is not my guy,” he said, making it clear that his focus was on the impact of the rivalry rather than the artists involved.
The rapper concluded by urging fans and industry stakeholders to look beyond lyrical clashes and focus on what truly strengthens Nigerian hip-hop. “To understand this genre, this fight… it runs deeper than lyrics and wax,” he remarked.
The feud between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez has dominated online conversations in recent weeks, sparking debates among fans about whether rap beefs help or harm the Nigerian music industry.
