Prof. Mamman Saba Jibril, Secretary to the Kwara State Government, has condemned the current trend of civil servants that are due for retirement lobbying for service extension.
He lamented that the attitude has often grievously impacted the dignity and respect of the workers and also stalled carrier progression.
Prof Jibril made the remark at the send forth organised for the recently retired staff of the Governor’s Office, warning workers to desist from such an act to retain the honour of the service.
He observed that workers who engaged in such behaviour lose their respect and pride amongst other civil servants and the public.

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the state Governor, Mrs Olubukola Babalola, in her speech, congratulated the retirees for their successful career in the service and admonished them to make good use of the wide knowledge and resources acquired while in service to live a productive life.
Also speaking, the state Acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Mercy Shittu, applauded the retirees for their commitment and forthrightness while in service and pledged that the government would continue to leverage on their experiences.
The Permanent Secretary (General Service), Abdulganiyu Shuaib Yitta, aligned with the SSG and implored civil servants to always toe the path of honour and be contented with their destiny.
“We should try to abide by the rules and join hands to maintain the glory of the service,” he pleaded.
In her comment, the State Solicitor General, Hajia kikelomo Sabitiyu Grillo, commended the SSG office for maintaining the tradition of honouring its retirees in spite of the economic crunch stressing that it was important to celebrate officials who served diligently in service.
The retirees include Dr Idowu Anu ( executive Director ECA) ; Adisa Tunde Mohammed ( Director Special Service); Mrs Dada Florence ( Staff Officer); Mrs Maria Akinola( Store Officer); Mrs Esther Adefila, Alhaja Gambari Memunat Issa and Mrs Mopelola Animashaun, Cadre Officers.
