A fatal accident on Thursday claimed the life of a yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist following a collision involving a Honda Accord and a truck at Ibafon, along the Apapa–Oshodi Expressway in Lagos.
It was gathered that the crash which occurred around 11:30 a.m., caused a temporary halt to vehicular movement as onlookers gathered in shock over the gory scene.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened when a speeding truck was overtaken by a Honda Accord, during which the motorcyclist, who was allegedly riding against traffic, crashed into the vehicle.
One of the witnesses, identified simply as Tunde, recounted the incident.

“The truck brushed against the car, causing the driver to lose control. The car swerved off and hit the okada rider head-on. The impact was so severe that the motorcyclist died on the spot.”
Following the crash, the truck driver reportedly fled the scene, abandoning both the vehicle and the deceased.
Police officers later arrived to restore order, cordoned off the area, and took the Honda driver into custody for questioning.
The remains of the victim were subsequently evacuated from the scene.
