A person of interest in the 1995 disappearance of a beloved news anchor and another woman in 2007 is also the man responsible for the 2006 murder of a 21-year-old woman in Wisconsin, authorities say.
Christopher Revak died by suicide in a Missouri jail cell on July 26, 2009, the day after he was charged with second-degree murder for the March 2007 murder of Rene Williams, 36, a mother of three from Mansfield, police said, the Columbia Missourian reported.
On Monday, Oct. 20, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc., shared a letter on Facebook from the local district attorney, Jonathan Barnett, who wrote he would have charged Revak with the 2006 death of another woman, Deidre Harm.
“I consider this case closed,” Barnett’s leader reads. “I believe I had enough to charge and, if Mr. Revak were still alive, win at trial.”
Harm, a single mother, vanished on June 10, 2006, after going out to a bar in downtown Wisconsin Rapids, where Revak is from, police said, WSAW reports.
The next day, she was reported missing, the outlet reports.
Authorities searched for her but were unable to find her. Then, on November 20, 2006, hunters found what turned out to be Harm’s remains in a wooded area in Seneca, about five miles from the downtown area, WSAW reports.
Revak was considered a person of interest in the disappearance of Iowa news anchor Jodi Husentruit, 27, who vanished on her way to work the morning of June 27, 1995.
Williams was last seen on March 13, 2007 at the Eagle Lodge, the bar she worked at in Ava, Mo. Revak was at the bar where Williams worked that same night, Fox 9 reports.

Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase told KY3 that the determination about Harm’s slaying raises disturbing new questions about Revak, an EMT by day.
“We’re dealing with what’s possibly a serial killer,” he told KY3. “During his day he’s doing his deed to society and helping people and saving people but there was a dark side to Chris Revak.”
