Cristiano Ronaldo advanced his personal goals and Al Nassr’s ambitions with his strike against Al Hazem.
Cristiano Ronaldo is not only half a century of goals away from the millennium mark after he scored in Al Nassr’s victory against Al Hazem to help the Faris Najd maintain their lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings.
Ronaldo leads Al Nassr to another victory
Al Nassr have begun the season in dominant fashion, winning all six matches they have played so far, powered by their superstar forward.
Ronaldo’s strike in the 88th minute against Al Hazem confirmed the result after the on-form Joao Felix had scored the opener in the 25th minute.
The goal was Ronaldo’s sixth in six matches this season, underlying his incredible scoring rate. His form this season is a continuation of the excellent year he is having, having now scored 34 goals in 38 games.

1000 goals target
While Ronaldo has said he is now obsessed with reaching the figure, he admitted that he wanted to be the first professional footballer to score 1000 official goals.
With his strike against Al-Hazem, he has now scored 950 official career goals, 50 away from the 1000-goal ambition. He recently signed a two-year contract extension with Al Nassr. If he maintains his current scoring volume, he will hit the target before the end of his current deal.
