  • Aisha Wahab, the young woman abducted in Auchi, Edo State, has been released after her family reportedly paid a ₦20 million ransom.
  • Videos of her pleading for help had earlier gone viral, with the kidnappers threatening to kill her if their demands weren’t met.
  • Davido’s aide, Isreal DMW, confirmed her release on Friday.

A young woman identified as Aisha Wahab, who was abducted in Auchi, Edo State, has finally regained her freedom after spending several days in captivity.

Aisha was kidnapped last week Saturday at Igbira Camp in Auchi by unidentified gunmen who reportedly invaded the area and whisked her away into the forest.

During the week, disturbing videos surfaced on social media showing Aisha pleading tearfully for help, as her abductors demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for her release. The kidnappers had threatened to kill her if the ransom was not paid by Friday, October 24.

Nigerian socialite and Davido’s aide, Isreal DMW, who has been vocal about Aisha’s abduction online, confirmed her release on Friday. According to him, the ransom was successfully paid before she was set free.

While details of her health condition and the circumstances surrounding her release remain unclear, social media users have expressed relief and gratitude for her safe return, calling for stronger security measures to curb the growing cases of kidnapping in the region.

In other news… Controversial Nigerian activist and social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the government has no intention of releasing Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

According to him, the authorities are deliberately using court proceedings as a façade to give the public a sense of progress while secretly ensuring Kanu remains in custody for years.

VeryDarkMan claimed that several prominent South-East leaders are also complicit in Kanu’s continued detention, accusing them of playing a behind-the-scenes role in his arrest and silence.

He asserted that the long-term strategy is to keep Kanu imprisoned until old age, stressing that his periodic court appearances are nothing more than a public show to maintain appearances of due process.

The activist’s comments have stirred fresh debate online, with many questioning the sincerity of ongoing legal proceedings and the broader political dynamics surrounding Kanu’s case.
