Super Eagles midfield star, Alex Iwobi, has reached a new Premier League milestone.

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has joined an exclusive list of African footballers who have hit the 300 appearances mark in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old recently became the Nigerian with the most appearances in Premier League history. He has now reached the 300-game mark, becoming only the fifth African footballer to achieve the feat.

Iwobi joins exclusive list

According to OptaJoe, Ivorian defender Kolo Toure is the African with the most appearances in Premier League history (353). Mohamed Salah, Jordan Ayew, Wilfred Zaha, and now Alex Iwobi are the only Africans to reach the 300-appearances milestone.

Alex Iwobi: Road to 300

Iwobi made his Premier League debut for Arsenal on 31 October 2015, coming on as a stoppage-time substitute for Mesut Özil in the 3–0 win at Swansea City.

He has played in the competition for three clubs: Arsenal (2015–2019), Everton (2019–2023) and Fulham (2023 to date).  He recorded 100 PL appearances for Arsenal, 123 for Everton and  77 for Fulham so far, amounting to 300.

He reached the 300 appearances mark earlier today, in Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle. Iwobi started the game and was replaced in second-half injury time in Fulham’s search for an equaliser.
