Nigeria, Japan to deepen strategic partnership

President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen its longstanding partnership with Japan across trade, technology, and development cooperation.

According to him, both nations share a “productive and strategic relationship” that has yielded mutual benefits over the years. “As you begin this new responsibility,” he wrote, “please be assured of Nigeria’s goodwill and continued collaboration for greater achievements.”

The President expressed optimism that under Takaichi’s leadership, both countries would explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in innovation, education, and economic growth.

Takaichi’s rise a landmark for women in leadership

Tinubu noted that Takaichi’s emergence symbolises decades of hard work, consistency, and commitment to public service.

He described her story as “a testament to perseverance and excellence in leadership.”

He expressed confidence that her tenure would further advance Japan’s role in global peace, stability, and development.

The President also extended his best wishes for her health and success in office, while expressing hope to meet her soon “to discuss opportunities of mutual benefit.”
