  • A Belgian tenant, @chefvee42, was stunned after her landlord asked her to leave her apartment of nine years because he found unwashed plates in her kitchen.
  • The landlord claimed that dirty dishes could “stain the walls” and demanded she move out.
  • Her story went viral on TikTok, sparking debates about tenants’ rights and whether such an eviction is legally justified.

A tenant in Belgium has expressed shock after her landlord allegedly asked her to vacate her apartment because he found unwashed plates in her kitchen.

The woman, known on TikTok as @chefvee42, said she had lived in the property for nine years without issues until the landlord came to fix a fly-screen and saw dirty dishes.

According to her, he claimed that “leaving plates unwashed could stain the walls” and told her to find another place to live. She expressed disbelief, saying she had always kept the apartment reasonably clean.
