  • Activist VeryDarkMan criticized supporters of Omoyele Sowore and Nnamdi Kanu, claiming the protest for Kanu’s release faded immediately after Sowore’s arrest.
  • He argued that many joined the movement for attention rather than conviction, saying they “don’t even know what they’re fighting for.”
  • His remarks sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing and others accusing him of disrespecting genuine activists.

Controversial activist and social media personality, VeryDarkMan, has stirred reactions online after mocking the supporters of activist and politician Omoyele Sowore.

In a post shared on social media, VeryDarkMan claimed that the ongoing protest calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), lost momentum immediately after Sowore was arrested.

According to him, most of the protesters were only participating for attention and hype rather than genuine conviction. He expressed disbelief that the demonstrators stopped their agitation once Sowore was detained.

He wrote, “Nnamdi Kanu protest went down immediately they arrested Sowore because the people don’t even know what they’re fighting for. They went to support Sowore because of hype. It’s baffling Sowore got arrested and his people went home. You all are pieces of 💩.”

His statement has since triggered mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that many protests in the country lack true purpose, while others accused him of disrespecting genuine activists and trivializing the struggle for justice.

The controversy adds to the growing conversation about public mobilization, political activism, and authenticity among Nigeria’s youth movement.
