The Enugu State Coordinator, Renewed Hope Agenda 2027, Dr. Ezenwa A. A. Onyirimba, has warmly welcomed Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu and other distinguished members of the Federal House of Representatives from Enugu State into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement made available to The Authority, Mazi Dr Onyirimba expressed optimism that their joining APC will add to the weight of the ruling party in Enugu state.

Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu, representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constiuency was among the five out of six federal lawmakers from Enugu state, who jettisoned PDP and embraced APC during a plenary session of the house yesterday.

The other Federal Lawmakers from Enugu state are Hon.Chidi Obetta, representing Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency,Hon.Dennis Agbo representing Igbo Eze North/Udenu,Hon.Martins Oke representing Igbo Etiti/Uzo-Uwani and Hon.Nnoli Nnaji’, representing Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency of Enugu State.

Their defection was witnessed by the Enugu state Governor, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the National Chairman of APC, Prof.Nentawe Yilwatda.

In the press statement, Dr. Onyirimba described their decision to join the ruling party as a commendable and strategic step towards deepening democratic governance and accelerating development in Enugu State and the South East at large.

He urged the new members to join hands with other progressive leaders in ensuring that the transformation agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and that of the Governor of Enugu State, reach the grassroots for the benefit of all citizens.

Dr. Onyirimba, who was recently appointed as the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda 2027 of Mr. President for Enugu State, also used the opportunity to commend the Governor of Enugu State for his visionary leadership and the ongoing infrastructural developments across the state.

He further expressed optimism that the synergy between the federal and state governments will usher in a new era of inclusive growth, unity, and prosperity for the people of Enugu State..
