Nigerian international Peter Olayinka is now without a club after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Red Star Belgrade.
The 29-year-old moved to the former European champions from Slavia Prague in 2023 and has been important for the club.
However, Olayinka’s tenure in Belgrade began with high hopes but ultimately proved to be a difficult period for the Super Eagles forward.
Despite scoring a respectable 14 goals during his time with the club, he found his playing time increasingly limited in recent months.

Olayinka quits Red Star
Red Star Belgrade confirmed the split on Wednesday via an official statement on their website and social media channels.

Olayinka has decided to leave Red Star Belgrade, having said he wants to pursue a “new challenge”.
“Football Club Crvena Zvezda informs the public that it has mutually terminated its cooperation with Peter Olayinka, with mutual understanding and respect,” the club announced.
“Peter expressed his desire to seek a new challenge in his career, and the club respected his wish, expressing gratitude for his professionalism, dedication, and contribution to our team during his time here.”
The statement concluded with well wishes for the player: “Crvena Zvezda thanks Olayinka for everything he has done in the red-and-white jersey and wishes him much success, good health, and happiness in the continuation of his career. “Thank you, Peter and good luck!”
