Somewhere high above the clouds on Air Force One, Donald Trump was feeling sorry for himself again this week. Not about war or poverty, but about the true injustice of our time – that the US Constitution won’t let him have a third term.
“The sad thing is,” he moaned, “I have my highest numbers ever.” Bless. By “highest numbers,” he must mean his cholesterol, because the latest YouGov poll puts him at just 39 per cent approval, with 58 per cent of Americans desperate for the credits to roll.
A -19% rating is impressive only if it’s a golf score, and Trump’s treating democracy like it’s just another course to cheat on. The man who turned the White House into a reality show now wants a trilogy. But judging by those numbers, America’s long since tuned out.

Three police officers in Fairhope, Alabama, had their hands full after tackling a 61-year-old woman dressed as a giant penis at a local “No Kings” protest. Officers said Jeana Renea Gamble’s costume was “obscene in a public setting” – she disagreed.
A brief standoff ended with her on the ground and charged with disorderly conduct. Bystanders filmed the arrest, shouting that she was harmless – apart from causing a stiff reaction from police.

Prosecutors say Kevin Bollaro was meant to be racing to reports of gunfire but instead went the wrong way for cash and carbs.
Rather than responding immediately, prosecutors say GPS data and surveillance video show Bollaro drove nearly two miles in the opposite direction of the caller’s location for a 12-inch deep pan.
