Victor Osimhen dominates Nigerian football valuation, Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface see massive drops.

Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen maintains his status as Nigeria’s most valuable football asset, holding steady with a €75 million market value following his high-profile summer move from SSC Napoli to Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to the latest figures from Transfermarkt.

This stability at the top contrasts sharply with significant valuation drops for fellow Super Eagles players Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface, highlighting the fluid nature of the elite football market.

Osimhen’s Transfer Shields Top Spot

Osimhen’s valuation remains unchanged following his highly publicised, reported €75 million net transfer fee to Galatasaray in July 2025.

This move cements his spot as the most valuable player in the Super Lig and the clear leader among Nigerian internationals.

The high transfer fee essentially locked in his valuation, affirming his global standing as an elite centre-forward.

The list reveals notable market changes for several Super Eagles players. Second on the list is attacker Lookman, whose market value is now placed at €40 million, a reported drop of €20 million from an earlier valuation of €60 million this year.

The drop comes after his transfer saga in the summer and general drop in form for club and country, underlining the strict metrics of market value adjustment.

Sharing the next spots are Fulham teammates Alex Iwobi, who made Premier League history, and Calvin Bassey. Iwobi is valued at €28 million, while Bassey has seen a modest increase to also hit €28 million, a rise from his prior €25 million valuation.

Further down the list, one of the most drastic changes belongs to striker Victor Boniface. The 24-year-old dropped a significant €20 million in value to settle at €20 million, placing him seventh.

Mid-Table Market Movers

Elsewhere in the top 10, defender Ola Aina holds sixth place with a €22 million market value. Centre-forward Tolu Arokodare has enjoyed a surge, rising from €18 million to €25 million following his celebrated Premier League move to Wolves, placing him fifth.

The latter half of the list is completed by defensive midfielder Raphael Onyedika at €20 million and the little-known left-back at Atalanta, Honest Ahanor, whose value has soared from a modest €5 million to an incredible €20 million. Rounding out the top ten is Bayer Leverkusen’s Nathan Tella, valued at €15 million.

The market valuation of players serves as a key indicator of a nation’s footballing strength. While Osimhen’s consistent, high valuation offers a strong focal point for Nigerian football, the huge drops for established talents like Lookman and Boniface could influence future contract negotiations and potential transfer fees.

For the Super Eagles, the collective dip in market value among some key offensive players suggests a need for sustained elite-level performance to re-establish and grow their market standing.

The rise of players like Arokodare and Ahanor, however, shows the emerging depth of Nigerian talent.
