Riley Moore, the U.S. representative for West Virginia’s 2nd congressional district, has issued a stern warning to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu amid rising tensions over reports of violence against Christians in Nigeria.

Moore’s statement came in response to President Donald Trump’s recent remarks condemning the alleged killings and threatening possible U.S. military intervention if the attacks persist.

Trump’s critical message

Trump had expressed strong disapproval of what he described as ongoing persecution of Christians, vowing that his administration would take decisive action if necessary.

Moore warns Tinubu

In a tweet addressing the situation, Moore cautioned President Tinubu and the Nigerian government not to underestimate Trump’s resolve. He emphasized that any continued violence could provoke a serious response from the United States.

Moore further asserted that America would not remain silent while “brothers and sisters in Christ” are being targeted and killed, describing the situation as one that demands urgent international attention.

His comments add to a growing wave of pressure from U.S. lawmakers and religious groups urging the Nigerian government to take stronger measures to protect religious minorities and ensure justice for victims of sectarian violence.

His words …

“To the Government of Nigeria & @officialABAT:

President Trump has provided forewarning if you do not correct the current state of inaction to stop the killing of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your country. The days of the US looking the other way are over – it will never happen on @POTUS’ watch.

I urge you to cooperate with us in preventing this atrocity that worsens everyday. We want your people to live in peace – all of them, especially Christians.

The President has been clear. I would not test his resolve. Many have tried and all have failed.

We will not allow the gates of hell to prevail against the faithful.”
