Nigeria’s Super Falcons attacking midfielder, Jennifer Echegini announced her return from injury in style, providing an assist as Paris Saint-Germain Féminine sealed a comfortable 2–0 victory over Le Havre AC in the French Division 1 Féminine on Saturday.

The 24-year-old playmaker who missed Nigeria’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying doubleheader against Benin Republic due to a hamstring injury, produced a commanding display the Parisian club.

Echegini wasted no time making her mark, delivering a perfectly weighted through ball to Romee Leuchter in the 11th minute, allowing the Dutch forward to slot home the opener.

Her vision, passing range, and ability to dictate tempo from midfield drew plaudits from the home crowd at the Training Center Paris Saint-Germain Terrain 5, where PSG dominated possession from start to finish.

Leuchter doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, giving PSG complete control.

Echegini, who has now registered two assists in six league appearances this season, was substituted in the 73rd minute for Merveille Kanjinga as she continues to build full match fitness following her recovery.

Statistically, PSG controlled 62% of possession, registered 20 total shots (nine on target), and restricted Le Havre to just five efforts at goal.

The result extended PSG’s unbeaten home run and solidified their position as Lyon’s closest challengers.

PSG will next host Fleury 91 on November 8, 2025, as they continue their pursuit of a first league title since 2021.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade was an unused sub In the team’s victory.

Jennifer Echegini Assists on Injury Comeback

Echegini’s comeback caps a swift recovery from the hamstring injury sustained in PSG’s 2–1 victory over Strasbourg on October 19. Her rehabilitation and return to full training on Friday came earlier than expected.

Since joining PSG earlier this year, the Nigerian has impressed with her creativity, technique, and attacking intelligence, making her a fan favorite and one of the club’s most dependable midfielders.

The former Florida State University star’s resurgence is also timely for Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu, who views Echegini as a key part of Nigeria’s plans for the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
