UK prosecutors on Monday announced that they have filed charges against a man who carried out a Saturday knife attack on a London-bound train.
The 32-year-old Briton was charged with 10 counts of attempted murder in the stabbing that saw several people hospitalized with serious injuries, as well as one count of attempted murder at a London transit station earlier in the day.
The suspect was also charged with committing bodily harm as well as two counts of illegal possession of a bladed article.
Authorities say the incidents were isolated and not being treated as terror attacks.

Eleven people were injured in the train attack, one of whom — a crew member who remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition — is credited with ending the siege. Five of those hospitalized for their injuries have been discharged.
The stabbing spree, which lasted for several minutes, forced the Doncaster to London train to make an emergency stop in Huntingdon, just minutes after departing from a regularly scheduled stop at Peterborough.
It was in Peterborough, the perpetrator’s hometown, where the knife-wielding man entered the train.
Police say they had officers at the scene just eight minutes after they received their first emergency calls from passengers on the moving train.
The attacker, whom Transport Minister Heidi Alexander said was not known to police, will be arraigned at Peterborough Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.
