An e-hailing driver, Adedayo Adegbola, accused of robbing, assaulting and forcefully having carnal knowledge of women, has been arrested. Crack detectives and smart operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos State Police Command, arrested Adegbola in connection with multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault occasioning harm, indecent assault and multiple armed robberies of female passengers in some parts of the state.

Overwhelmed by the complaint, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, commenced a discreet investigation into the complaint from victims.

The painstaking investigation by the Police Joint Investigation teams resulted in the arrest of the suspect on October 31, 2025. The operational vehicle being used by the suspect, a red Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number JJJ 226 HT, was recovered from him as an exhibit.

Spokesperson for the Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the investigation was being intensified to arrest other suspects involved in the crimes.  The command urged other victims of the suspect to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to provide relevant information and evidence to help the investigation, with the promise that their identities would be protected.
