  • Former militant leader Asari Dokubo has warned that any U.S. troops sent to Nigeria under orders from former President Donald Trump would face armed resistance.
  • In a Facebook live session, Asari vowed that foreign soldiers would “die and be buried in Nigeria” if they intervened, dismissing claims that only Christians are being killed in Nigeria’s terrorist attacks.
  • He argued that Muslims have suffered more casualties and insisted that Nigeria does not need foreign interference.

Former militant leader Asari Dokubo has warned that he and his supporters would resist any deployment of American soldiers to Nigeria, saying such forces would not go unchallenged if ordered into the country.

Speaking during a Facebook live session, Asari reacted to reports that former U.S. President Donald Trump had directed preparations for possible military involvement in Nigeria over the alleged killing of Christians. Asari dismissed the idea of foreign troops intervening, saying Nigeria would show whether it had the capability to confront any external forces.

He also disputed claims that only Christians have been victims of attacks, arguing that more Muslims have been killed since the insurgency began.
