David Beckham officially became a Sir on Tuesday, ending his long wait for a knighthood after being included on the King’s Birthday Honours List this year

Brooklyn Beckham stayed conspicuously silent following the announcement that his father David would be receiving a knighthood. The 26-year-old, the eldest child of David and Victoria, is at the centre of an ongoing family dispute alongside his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Sources suggest that Brooklyn and Nicola are currently not on speaking terms with his parents. The rift, which deepened after the couple skipped David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May, appears to have contributed to Brooklyn’s silence over his father’s recent honour.
David, who was officially knighted on Tuesday during a ceremony at Windsor Castle, was named on the King’s Birthday Honours List in June. While the rest of the Beckham family publicly rejoiced over the news, Brooklyn chose to stay quiet.

Instead, the aspiring chef posted an Instagram story promoting pretzel pita chips shortly after the announcement that his father was being made a Sir by His Majesty, King Charles III – a move that left many followers puzzled.
According to sources, David never told Brooklyn about his accolade and the youngster learned about the achievement through the media.

Despite his public silence, one source claimed that Brooklyn was “thrilled” for his dad but still prefers to maintain “no contact” with his family for now. The family feud traces its roots back to Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish 2022 wedding in Palm Beach, Florida.
Tensions reportedly ignited when Nicola expressed interest in wearing a wedding dress designed by Victoria Beckham, but due to scheduling conflicts at Victoria’s atelier, it couldn’t be produced. Nicola chose a custom Valentino gown instead, allegedly leaving Victoria feeling sidelined and sparking discord.
Nicola later denied any feud in interviews, calling the dress situation overblown. The rift has shown in social media snubs, missed gatherings like Victoria’s fashion shows, and holiday absences.

By 2025, it escalated, with the couple skipping David’s birthday, fuelling speculation of a deeper fracture. Insiders say Brooklyn feels torn between his wife and parents, with Nicola reportedly encouraging distance from the family.
David’s knighthood adds complexity to the drama. The football icon has long coveted the “Sir” title for his sports legacy, UNICEF work and philanthropy.
His hopes faltered in 2017 after leaked emails supposedly showed his fury at being overlooked, calling the honours committee “unappreciative c***s” and mocking others’ awards, which delayed his chances.
However, Beckham will now finally be known as Sir David, while his wife Victoria will be styled as Lady Beckham.
