Victoria Beckham has made David the suit which he will wear for his investiture today, it is reported.
The fashion designer, 51, has given her husband the special gift to mark the day he gets a knighthood. David, the former England international, will be bestowed by King Charles himself following years of missing out on the honour.
When news emerged of this in June, Victoria reportedly embarked on the secret project to surprise the man she married in 1999. It is said David, 50, has “teased his wife that she never makes him any clothes” so Victoria, who was a member of the Spice Girls, was determined to mark the investiture.
And so David, who played more than 250 times for Manchester United, will don the three-piece suit today as he is celebrated for his services to sport and charity. The father of four is understood to be “extremely happy” with the design, the first garment Victoria has made for her husband.

A friend of the couple said: “David teases Victoria that she never makes him any clothes. So when they found out in the spring that David was going to get his big day at Windsor later in the year, Victoria decided that she had enough time to make it happen.
“She has never done anything like this before and she was aware it would be time-consuming but Victoria knew the investiture would be some way off.”
David was named in the King’s Birthday Honours in June, having reportedly been considered for a knighthood since 2011. After Victoria told David about the secret project, the former midfielder went for several fittings at his wife’s atelier in her west London offices, it is thought. Now, he is all set for the Windsor Castle ceremony, which will see the star kneel on his right knee whilst the King or a different member of the Royal Family touches his right shoulder and then his left with a bar sword blade.
“Victoria got to work, designing the three-piece suit and, as she doesn’t do anything by halves, she threw herself into it and made sure it was absolutely perfect,” the source told the Daily Mail.
But, until now the fashionista’s only foray into men’s clothing has been to make a handful of more casual outfits for their youngest son Cruz, 20, to wear to her Paris Fashion Week shows. Victoria’s move into men’s fashion comes just weeks after the launch of her three-part Netflix series, Victoria Beckham, which reveals what went on behind the scenes of the clothing and beauty empire she began in 2008.
