This Is Crossing The Line – Reactions Trail Video Of Blaqbonez Being Attacked During His Performance In Abuja

Reactions have poured in after Nigerian singer Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, reportedly faced hostility during a performance in Abuja.

Earlier, Tori News reported that Blaqbonez was pelted with objects by fans during the show.

The incident took place at Delphino Picnic behind the Abuja Velodrome on December 7.

In a video seen by Tori News, part of the audience booed him and threw objects at the stage, interrupting his show.

The rapper, who performed alongside Runtown and Duncan Mighty, faced disruptions during his song ‘ACL’ from his October album No Excuses.

Some attendees reacted angrily, possibly due to his earlier conflict with his colleague, Odumodublvck or his recent statements online.

Despite the tense moments, Blaqbonez remained composed and later shared updates thanking fans and reflecting on the performance.

Tundeoguns: “Maybe the performance didn’t match the crowd, but violence is never the answer.”

manueleze: “Audience behaviour like this shows a lack of maturity and respect for entertainers.”

Sadebayo: “Blaqbonez has the right to perform without fear of attacks from the audience.”

ngozikachi: “Disliking a song is fine, but disrupting a show and throwing things is crossing the line.”

ifeanyiukwu: “Artistes put in hard work to perform; fans should support, not attack.”

Davido claps back at social media trolls amid Osun political drama

Nigerian music superstar Davido has once again made headlines, this time for a viral social media exchange centered on his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and the ongoing political developments involving the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The conversation began with a social media X user Akin Akinwale commenting on the political tension in Osun, noting reports that the Osun APC was allegedly preventing Governor Adeleke from joining the party. He speculated that a “plot twist” could occur if Adeleke were to win with the Accord Party and take over the Osun APC.

Another X user, WEWE ADEFISAYO, jokingly brought Davido into the discussion, suggesting in Pidgin English that “If e lose na Davido go compose song for APC during 2027 campaign.” The comment implied that Davido might switch political support if his family experienced a setback.

Davido responded swiftly, turning the joke into an opportunity to flex his family’s financial prowess. He wrote, “Or we can just go back to our multi billion dollar company…,” showcasing that political outcomes would have little effect on their wealth or status.

When another user, Mr Sam, told him to “Oga go sit down for ground joor”, a Pidgin phrase urging him to humble himself, Davido fired back with a striking display of his lifestyle: “I’m actually sitting in the air in a global 7500 cost about 75 million dollars…” referencing his Bombardier Global 7500 private jet.

The interaction quickly went viral, drawing attention to the intersection of Nigerian music, politics, and social media. Davido’s assertive and humorous responses not only defended his family’s position but also reinforced his image as one of Africa’s most influential entertainers.

This episode reflects how Nigerian artists continue to navigate public scrutiny and political discourse while leveraging their platforms to assert influence and maintain personal branding.

Davido Reveals Adeleke Family Will Be Fine if Uncle Loses Governorship Election

  • Davido has hinted that his family could simply return to running their “multi-billion dollar company” if his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, loses the upcoming Osun governorship election.
  • The remark came in response to an online conversation suggesting Davido might compose campaign songs for APC if Adeleke is defeated.
  • The singer’s comment underscored the Adeleke family’s substantial business interests outside politics.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has suggested that his family might shift focus back to major business ventures if his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, were to lose the forthcoming Osun governorship election.

The comment came amid online discussions about Governor Adeleke’s political future following his recent defection to the Accord Party.

An X user, Lurvy, speculated on the drama surrounding the governor, to which another user, Whemimor, replied: “If e lose na Davido go compose song for APC during 2027 campaign.”

Davido quoted Whemimor’s tweet with a pointed response, hinting at the vast wealth of the Adeleke family beyond politics:

“Or we can just go back to our multi-billion dollar company …”

The singer’s comment reinforces the narrative that the Adeleke family’s primary source of wealth is rooted in their long-standing business enterprises, providing a safety net regardless of political outcomes.

Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke recently emerged as the governorship candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 election, securing the nomination after polling 145 votes in the party primary.

Announcing the result, the Secretary of the electoral committee, Abdulazeez Salaudeen, declared the winner:

“Having the highest number of votes, I declare Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the primary,” Salaudeen said.

In other news…. Kechi Okwuchi, one of only two survivors of the tragic Sosoliso plane crash that occurred on December 10, 2005, has taken to social media to mark the 20th anniversary of the disaster. The crash claimed 107 lives out of the 109 passengers on board.

In a video posted to her X account, Kechi Okwuchi paid tribute to the passengers who passed away. Recalling the event, she shared that she was 16 years old at the time and held her close friend as the plane was about to crash.

She spoke about her recovery and second chance at life:

“20 years have passed, and some of my memories are not only painful or negative anymore. I have had a lost of amazing experiences because I was able to have a second chance at life that most people on that place were not able to.”

The survivor recalled that the aftermath was rough and required a prolonged period of recovery from her injuries.

Kechi Okwuchi later gained widespread recognition after auditioning for the 12th edition of America’s Got Talent. She also graduated first-class in Economics from the University of St. Thomas (Houston) in 2015 and earned an MBA with distinction.

Live music venues warn of ‘devastating consequences’ of budget tax changes in letter to Sir Keir Starmer | Politics News

Tax changes announced in the budget could have “devastating, unintended consequences” on live music venues, including widespread closures and job losses, trade bodies have warned.

The bodies, representing nearly 1,000 live music venues, including grassroots sites as well as arenas such as the OVO Wembley Arena, The O2, and Co-op Live, are calling for an urgent rethink on the chancellor’s changes to the business rates system.

If not, they warn that hundreds of venues could close, ticket prices could increase, and thousands could lose their jobs across the country.

Politics latest: Ex-Olympic swimmer nominated for peerages

Business rates, which are a tax on commercial properties in England and Wales, are calculated through a complex formula of the value of the property, assessed by a government agency every three years. That is then combined with a national “multiplier” set by the Treasury, giving a final cash amount.

The chancellor declared in her budget speech that although she is removing the business rates discount for small hospitality businesses, they would benefit from “permanently lower tax rates”. The burden, she said, would instead be shifted onto large companies with big spaces, such as Amazon.

But both small and large companies have seen the assessed values of their properties shoot up, which more than wipes out any discount on the tax rate for small businesses, and will see the bills of arena spaces increase dramatically.

In the letter, coordinated by Live, the trade bodies write that the effect of Rachel Reeves’s changes are “chilling”, saying: “Hundreds of grassroots music venues will close in the coming years as revaluations drive costs up. This will deprive communities of valuable cultural spaces and limit the UK creative sector’s potential. These venues are where artists like Ed Sheeran began their career.

“Ticket prices for consumers attending arena shows will increase as the dramatic rise in arena’s tax costs will likely trickle through to ticket prices, undermining the government’s own efforts to combat the cost of living crisis. Many of these arenas are seeing 100%+ increases in their business rates liability.

“Smaller arenas in towns and cities across the UK will teeter on the edge of closure, potentially resulting in thousands of jobs losses and hollowing out the cultural spaces that keep places thriving.”

The full letter from trade bodies to the prime minister.

They go on to warn that the government will “undermine its own Industrial Strategy and Creative Sector Plan which committed to reducing barriers to growth for live events”, and will also reduce spending in hotels, bars, restaurants and other high street businesses across the country.

To mitigate the impact of the tax changes, they are calling for an immediate 40% discount on business rates for live venues, in line with film studios, as well as “fundamental reform” to the system used to value commercial properties in the UK, and a “rapid inquiry” into how events spaces are valued.

Sky’s Jess Sharp explains how the budget could impact your money

In response, a Treasury spokesperson told Sky News: “With Covid support ending and valuations rising, some music venues may face higher costs – so we have stepped in to cap bills with a £4.3bn support package and by keeping corporation tax at 25% – the lowest rate in the G7.

“For the music sector, we are also relaxing temporary admission rules to cut the cost of bringing in equipment for gigs, providing 40% orchestra tax relief for live concerts, and investing up to £10m to support venues and live music.”

The warning from the live music industry comes after small retail, hospitality and leisure businesses warned of the potential for widespread closures due to the changes to the business rates system.

Sky’s political editor Beth Rigby challenged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on the tax rises in the budget.

Sky News reported after the budget that the increase in business rates over the next three years following vast increases in the assessed values of commercial properties has left small retail, hospitality and leisure businesses questioning whether their businesses will be viable beyond April next year.

Analysis by UK Hospitality, the trade body that represents hospitality businesses, has found that over the next three years, the average pub will pay an extra £12,900 in business rates, even with the transitional arrangements, while an average hotel will see its bill soar by £205,200.

A Treasury spokesperson said their cap for small businesses will see “a typical independent pub pay around £4,800 less next year than they otherwise would have”.

“This comes on top of cutting licensing costs to help more venues offer pavement drinks and al fresco dining, maintaining our cut to alcohol duty on draught pints, and capping corporation tax,” they added.

Rufai Oseni Challenges IGP Over Seyi Tinubu’s Heavy Security

  • Rufai Oseni, co-host of Arise News “Morning Show,” challenged Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun regarding the extensive security detail for Seyi Tinubu.
  • The challenge was made during a live television segment.
  • Oseni’s remarks were in response to Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka’s criticism of the large security convoy for Seyi Tinubu.

Arise News “Morning Show” co-host Rufai Oseni has openly challenged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over the heavy security assigned to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

Oseni issued the challenge on live television while reacting to comments by Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, who recently criticised the size of the security convoy accompanying Seyi despite rising insecurity across the country.

In a viral broadcast, Oseni questioned the justification for such protection when kidnappings and violent attacks continue to threaten ordinary Nigerians daily.

GistLover had earlier reported Soyinka’s remarks, in which the world-renowned writer condemned the “excessive” security around the president’s son, calling it inappropriate at a time when citizens remain vulnerable.

Responding to the controversy, Oseni accused security agencies of misusing public resources for the benefit of political families. Using the expression “Dem nor born am well,” he dared authorities to attempt reducing Seyi’s security detail.

His fiery comments and street-style phrasing quickly ignited widespread debate online.

Co-host Dr. Reuben Abati and other anchors were present during the discussion.

The programme also referenced human rights activist Omoyele Sowore’s claim that Seyi Tinubu allegedly wields more influence than Nigeria’s top security chiefs.

In his posts on Instagram and Facebook, Sowore wrote:

“Seyi Tinubu ordered the detention of NANS President Atiku Abubakar Isah by the DSS for months after he was allegedly brutalised by Seyi Tinubu’s thugs. It took intense pressure and sustained intervention to secure his release. Seyi Tinubu wield more power than the IGP, CDS, DSS, and NSA combined, #an unelected authority operating above the law.”

Davido’s logistics manager, Israel Afeare, who is popularly known as Israel DMW, appears to have fallen in love again.

Israel subtly introduced his new lover to the public in an Instagram post on Wednesday December 10, 2025, while sharing pictures from the 88th birthday of General Theophilus Danjuma, rtd, a former Chief of Army Staff.

The development came two years after Israel announced separation from his wife, Sheila Courage David.

Recall that in October 2022, Israel got married to Sheila in Edo State.

The couple, however, parted ways in 2023, less than a year after their grand wedding following alleged infidelity and domestic violence.
