I’ll Beat Oyebamiji For Continuity Of Good Governance – Adeleke
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed the determination of the people of Osun to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 gubernatorial election, declaring, “I will beat Oyebamiji by the might of God and the people.”
Reacting to statements credited to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the APC gubernatorial primary, Governor Adeleke described the minister’s hope for victory as “wishful thinking, illusory grandstanding, and a failure to accept the deep unpopularity of APC among the people of Osun State.”
He called Oyetola’s administration an anti-people era, lamenting the state of affairs when he assumed office in 2022, and described the APC’s 12-year rule as “a dark page in Osun socio-political history, a period neither labour nor any segment of our population wants re-enacted.”
Mocking the APC and its candidate, Governor Adeleke criticized their deployment of anti-democratic tactics instead of appealing to the electorate. “If you are sure you have the votes of the people, why are you deploying anti-democratic means to stop the unstoppable will of our people? It is shameful and reprehensible that those who claim to be popular are dead scared to face the people in a free and fair election,” he said.
Through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor described APC’s claims as “a clear misreading of the political reality in Osun State.” He emphasized that citizens are enjoying a government that prioritizes workers’ welfare, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and inclusive development, and have no desire to return to the hardships of the APC era.
Governor Adeleke noted that the APC and its candidate were central to past economic mismanagement in the state, which led to half salaries, mounting debts, and poor service delivery, warning that the people of Osun will not allow a return to those dark days.
He highlighted the achievements of his administration, including recognition for primary healthcare leadership in the South West, and stressed that the people’s trust and confidence in his government remain strong.
“As the August 8, 2026 gubernatorial election approaches, Osun people are fully aware that a vote for the APC and its candidate is a vote for a return to the failures of the past. Such a regression is one the people of Osun are not prepared to entertain,” the governor stated.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to people-centred development and urged citizens to disregard political propaganda, assuring them of continued focus on delivering democratic dividends.

Speaking about Pastor Chris Okafor, he said:
“I support him 100%. Bringing the issue to social media itself is a red flag. Person wey dey support Regina to leave her marriage Misery loves company. The fastest way to know a bad friend is when she is supporting you to leave your marriage instead of resolving the issue with your husband.”
He mentioned his reason for supporting the pastor as the behavior or actions of Doris Ogala online in regards to Regina Daniels’ case with her husband, Ned Nwoko.
Reactions as pastor Chris speaks about marriage
@OgaDeeno noted:
“I’ve always said it,times without number that, marriage doesn’t change bad people. There’s nothing like “when I marry,I will change” or “when I marry him or her, they will change” Never! Be that which you want to see in others first.and the time to do it is now;or never.”

“If you have money, you’ll live like a king” – IJGB man sparks buzz, says Nigeria is better than UK
An abroad-based Nigerian man, popularly referred to as an IJGB (I Just Got Back), has sparked massive reactions online after boldly declaring that Nigeria offers a better lifestyle than the United Kingdom, especially for those with money.
In a viral video making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) by @ AsakyGRN, the visibly excited IJGB could barely contain his amazement as he reflected on his recent stay in Nigeria.
According to him, his experience was so enjoyable that explaining everything in detail could “land him in big, big trouble.”
The man praised the warmth and hospitality he received, saying he was treated like royalty everywhere he went. From the reception to the lifestyle, he insisted that Nigeria delivered an experience he never imagined.
“This is not a real place. People that think London is where it’s at, Nigeria has everything you need. People greet me like I’m a king. The girls here are beautiful. They have everything you need,” he said.
He stressed that financial comfort completely transforms life in Nigeria, noting that anyone with money is guaranteed top-tier entertainment, hospitality, and comfort.
The IJGB also questioned why many Nigerians are eager to relocate overseas, arguing that Nigeria already offers everything people seek in the UK and even more.
Reflecting on his short stay, he revealed that even if he returned to London immediately, he would do so as a happy man because of how much he enjoyed just three days in Nigeria.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online. One user wrote, “No lie, Naija is sweet when you have money.” Another added, “No matter how comfortable I am in the diaspora, Naija is where I’ll always come back to when I’m doing well.”

Osun 2026: Oyebamiji’s emergence, right step towards APC’s victory – Oyintiloye
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said the emergence of Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate in the August 8, 2026 governorship poll is a sign of victory.
Oyintiloye, while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, said that Oyebamiji’s election through a consensus arrangement should be dedicated to the APC leadership, members and, most especially, other aspirants who stepped down.
According to him, the manner of Oyebamiji’s emergence is an indication of the growth and excellence in character that the APC is known for.
He said, “With Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate and the APC’s impending victory at the polls, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu will be translated into good governance in Osun without a hitch.
“Having successfully completed the primary, the attention should be on the main poll. Oyebamiji as our candidate is a right step towards a victory awaiting APC.
“We must, however, work hard as a family united with a purpose for the victory to be won.”
The former lawmaker recalled that some individuals had predicted implosion in the party due to a large number of aspirants who initially came out to vie for the APC gubernatorial ticket.
Oyintiloye however, lauded the intervention of the party leaders, which he said made the process seamless and commended President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Chief Bisi Akande, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegoyega Oyetola, and others for their guidance and commitment towards a successful primary for Osun APC.
Appealing to the APC leadership in the state to strengthen the party further so that victory in the governorship poll is less stressful, Oyintiloye said assured that, when elected as governor, Oyebamiji would lead a people-friendly government that would implement programmes and policies meant to positively impact the lives of residents.
He also called on party members in Osun to redouble their efforts and unite with the purpose of returning the APC to power in the state.

“Trillions spent on security, yet terrorism keeps spreading in Nigeria”- Peter Obi laments
Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has lamented that despite trillions of naira and billions of dollars spent on security, terrorism continues to spread across Nigeria.
Obi made the comment in a social media post while reacting to a viral video from Kwara state in which suspected terrorists alleged that government officials supplied them with ammunition and logistics.
He said the allegation demands an immediate, transparent, and independent investigation, adding that the persistence of insecurity despite massive spending raises serious questions about accountability in government.
He cited a remark attributed to Sani Abacha, former military head of state, that “any insurgency that lasts more than 24 hours, the government is involved”.
Obi also referenced former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who had questioned why Nigeria negotiates with terrorists despite possessing advanced security technology.
“Before I left office, Nigeria could identify and locate anyone who committed any crime anywhere in the country,” Obasanjo was quoted as saying.
“Today, with technology such as drones and improved tracking tools, we can easily locate and remove them. But we are not doing that,” he added.
“Why are we negotiating with terrorists?” Obasanjo asked.
Obi said the government controls telecommunications, intelligence systems, and financial trails, yet kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism continue to thrive.
He said Nigeria built one of its most advanced police communication and tracking infrastructures between 2010 and 2015.
Obi questioned why such equipment is no longer being deployed to trace terrorists and rescue abducted victims.
He cited the recent St Mary’s Catholic School attack, where about 100 children were released without any reported arrest of the perpetrators.
Obi said there has been no clear update on more than 200 children and teachers still in captivity, noting that the persistent insecurity on such a scale points either to complicity or failure of leadership.
“No society should accept either,” Obi said.
He said a government that truly prioritises human life does not tolerate insecurity but eliminates it, stressing that Nigeria needs leaders of competence, transparency, and capacity who can end insecurity and fulfil the constitutional duty of protecting lives and property.

NDLEA arrests bandits’ drug supplier in Niger, uncovers codeine syrup factory in Abia
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a suspected major supplier of illicit drugs to bandits operating in Niger State and uncovered a clandestine codeine syrup manufacturing factory in Abia State during coordinated nationwide operations.
The agency disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, December 14, 2025, by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja.
The arrests and seizures form part of the agency’s broader push to disrupt drug supply chains linked to violent crime, cross-border trafficking, and the domestic abuse of controlled substances.
What they are saying
According to the NDLEA, operatives arrested 33-year-old Mohammed Sani, also known as Gamboli, after weeks of intelligence-led tracking in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The agency said he had earlier escaped during a raid on his residence on November 20, when 471.8 kilograms of skunk were recovered, but was eventually arrested on December 11 at a drug joint in Kuta. Intelligence reports described him as a major supplier of illicit drugs to bandits operating in the area.
In Abia State, the agency said its officers raided a clandestine codeine syrup factory in Osisioma Local Government Area, where 9,015 bottles of codeine syrup weighing about 1,152.2 kilograms were recovered.
Arrests and seizures across states
The agency also recorded multiple arrests and seizures in other parts of the country. In Enugu State, two suspects were arrested along major highways with a combined 101.8 kilograms of skunk.
In Oyo State, a raid on a notorious drug joint known as Beere the California led to the seizure of skunk, synthetic cannabis, and methamphetamine, with one suspect arrested while the alleged owner remains at large.
Further operations in Ogun State resulted in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of 98 kilograms of skunk. In Ondo State, NDLEA officers arrested a 55-year-old woman and her 29-year-old son in Ogbese, Akure North Local Government Area, where 1,187 kilograms of skunk and its seeds were recovered.
- In Edo State, operatives seized 461 kilograms of skunk during a raid in Owan East Local Government Area. In Gombe State, arrests led to the recovery of 40,000 capsules of tramadol and an additional 56 kilograms of skunk.
- At the Seme border in Lagos, two suspects were arrested with 50,000 pills of tramadol, while at courier facilities in Lagos, NDLEA intercepted consignments of tramadol, tapentadol, cocodamol, amitriptyline, and bromazepam concealed in black soap containers and designer clothing, bound for the United States, Canada, and Sweden.
- At the Apapa seaport, officers intercepted a container holding 170,000 bottles of codeine syrup weighing over 23,000 kilograms during a joint examination with the Nigeria Customs Service and other security agencies.
WADA sensitisation
Beyond enforcement, the NDLEA said its commands across the country continued War Against Drug Abuse sensitisation activities during the week. These included lectures in secondary schools in Katsina, Kano, Benue, and advocacy visits to traditional institutions, including the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), commended officers across the various commands for their operations and urged them to sustain the agency’s balanced approach to drug control efforts nationwide
What you should know
The NDLEA has recently continued to step up enforcement efforts against illicit drugs across the country, reflecting broader trends in Nigeria’s battle with narcotics supply and abuse. In late November, the agency reported recovering an estimated N6.7 billion worth of tramadol pills and codeine syrups during a targeted sting operation in Lagos, underscoring the scale of opioid trafficking challenges it faces.
Earlier in November, the agency also intercepted 20 kilograms of cocaine hidden on a vessel bound for Brazil at the Apapa port in Lagos in collaboration with other security partners, showing the international dimensions of its interdiction work.

John Cena announces retirement from WWE after 24-yr career
John Cena, the most decorated wrestler in WWE history, has officially retired from the sport after making his final appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event in front of more than 19,000 fans at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
The 17-time world champion brought his year-long retirement tour to a close with a loss to Gunther, tapping out for only the fourth time in his career and the first time in 21 years. Cena was placed in multiple sleeper holds by the “Ring General” and, after repeatedly breaking free, eventually looked into the camera, smiled slightly and submitted.
It marked Cena’s first tap-out defeat since 2004, when he lost to Kurt Angle.
During the match, Cena attempted several of his trademark moves, including the Five Knuckle Shuffle and
the Attitude Adjustment, but was unable to withstand Gunther’s sustained offense. After the bout, Gunther exited the ring as members of the WWE locker room poured out to honour Cena.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes entered the ring and handed John Cena their championship belts, allowing him to wear them one last time.
The crowd reacted angrily when WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque appeared, showering him with chants of “bullst” and “You f*ed up” as fans voiced their displeasure over Cena’s farewell result.
A tribute montage followed, featuring wrestlers from across Cena’s career, including archival footage of former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. Cena then removed his shoes and sweatbands, leaving them in the centre of the ring before taking his bows and walking away.
As he made his way toward the entrance, Cena high-fived fans, took one final bow and addressed the camera for the last time.
“It’s been a pleasure serving you all these years, thank you,” Cena said, before exiting the arena as the broadcast faded to black.
The defeat marked the second retirement match Gunther has ended in 2025, having earlier beaten Bill Goldberg in his final bout.
Cena’s final match capped a dramatic year in which he turned heel for the first time in his career at Elimination Chamber in March.
He later defeated Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title at WrestleMania, breaking the record for the most world championships in WWE history, before Rhodes reclaimed the title at SummerSlam. Cena’s final reign came after defeating Dominik Mysterio in his hometown of Boston.
