Former England footballer and BBC Sports Personality of the Year presenter Alex Scott is reportedly considering relocating to America

Former footballer Alex Scott, who played at the pinnacle of the sport with Arsenal and England, has carved out an impressive television career for herself since hanging up her boots. Now 41, she’s the face of the BBC’s flagship football programme – Football Focus – and also a regular on The One Show.
During her time on the pitch, she earned 140 caps for England and had stints with Boston Breakers and Birmingham City, in addition to her time with the Gunners. The transition to television was a smooth one for the gifted ex-footballer, whose presenting portfolio also includes this year’s Soccer Aid, where she shared the stage with TV stalwart Dermot O’Leary.
However, her post-playing life hasn’t been without its challenges and downsides, particularly given the increased scrutiny that comes with being in the public eye. While she would have been accustomed to a certain level of fame as a player, her off-field endeavours in recent years have propelled her into the spotlight like never before.
This was underscored by her stint on the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where she was the first contestant to be voted out of camp. It later emerged that she couldn’t attend the reunion due to a family emergency involving a relative of Jess Glynne – her partner.
Popstar girlfriend
Scott has been in a relationship with singer Glynne since 2023, with the couple making their relationship public in October of that year. They had been dating for two months prior to becoming official.

Despite voicing her wish to start a family with Glynne and the couple clearly being smitten, Scott has confessed to facing difficulties with displaying physical affection due to her relationship with her father. Father Tony has disputed these allegations.

“We weren’t allowed to express emotion,” Scott said to in June 2024. “Dad didn’t allow us to hug each other or say, ‘I love you.’ It had a huge impact on us all.
“I remember one of the first times Jess hugged me. I was like… {rigid]. She was like, ‘Are you not going to put your arms around me?’ But I didn’t know how to do that.”
Career setback and US relocation
Scott was passed over when the BBC selected their replacements to front Match of the Day following Gary Lineker’s departure from the legendary programme. She had been amongst the frontrunners for the position and had assembled an impressive portfolio in the field by that stage.
Nevertheless, the role was awarded to Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan, who now split presenting responsibilities at the BBC. Speculation has also emerged claiming Scott and partner Glynne were contemplating relocating to the United States for a fresh start following reports of her frustration concerning Football Focus.

The Sun claimed that Scott was ‘hurt’ that her Football Focus viewing figures had declined. The former Arsenal star had previously tackled rumours that the programme was faltering in 2023 but stood by it and insisted the statistics remained robust.
A source in 2024 said: “Alex is now seriously contemplating moving on from the show. Last year she was hugely hurt by unfair criticism about falling viewing figures – and felt she was thrown under a bus. The viewing figures were not as reported and she feels no-one backed her up and issued the correct viewing figures.”
The insider also disclosed that Scott and Glynne were “contemplating a move to America.” Scott has previously portrayed the US as somewhat of a sanctuary, indicating she enjoyed greater anonymity across the pond. In her 2022 memoir ‘How (Not) To Be Strong’, Scott wrote: “In Boston, I didn’t have to be the strong one. I could just be.”

Mysterious space object 3i/ATLAS to reach its closest point to Earth | Science, Climate & Tech News
A mysterious object that a controversial scientist claims could be an alien battleship reaches its closest point to Earth on Friday.
The object, known as 3i/ATLAS, will speed by at 130,000mph, at a distance of 170 million miles, roughly twice as far away as the sun.
While there is near consensus among astronomers that the object is a comet from outside our solar system, a Harvard University astrophysicist has sparked a furious debate by warning he cannot rule out that extraterrestrials are paying us a visit.
Professor Avi Loeb told Sky News that humanity should be on high alert for what may be a “black swan event” – something that’s highly unlikely but has high consequences and might have been foreseen.
“Alien technology is a potential threat because when you go on a blind date of interstellar proportions, you never know whether you have a friendly visitor as your dating partner or a serial killer,” he said.
“When there are implications to society, we must consider even an unlikely event and collect as much data as possible to convince us otherwise.”
Professor Loeb said images of the object show it has an unusual tail that could come from a propulsion system, nickel in its gas cloud could be evidence of metal mining on its surface, and its trajectory, aligned with the orbits of planets in our solar system, was too unlikely to be by chance.

3i/ATLAS was first spotted in July as a distant dot of light against the starry canvas of the cosmos.
But it has moved rapidly through the solar system, passing Mars in early October, disappearing briefly behind the sun, and after coming close to Earth’s orbit, will fly by Jupiter before fading from view again.
The US and European space agencies have trained cameras from a dozen spacecraft on the object, and they say there is no doubt its origins are completely natural.
Amit Kshatriya, from NASA, said: “This object is a comet. It looks and behaves like a comet. All evidence points to it being a comet.”

Scientists estimate the comet is around eight billion years old, twice the age of our sun and solar system, and is a cosmic fossil left over from the formation of an unknown star in the galaxy.
Professor Chris Lintott, an astronomer from the University of Oxford, told Sky News that there was nothing sinister about the object.
“It is just nonsense,” he said. “It’s like saying we should consider the possibility that the moon is made of cheese.
“You could consider that possibility if you like, but my first question is why would you think that?”
He said the comet’s changing colour and brightness can be explained by the sun heating pockets of ice and different materials that it’s picked up on its epic journey through the stars.
“There is nothing this thing has done that we haven’t seen elsewhere,” he said.

But Prof Loeb has accused other scientists of closing their minds to alternative explanations for what they are seeing.
“At the foundation of science is the humility to learn,” he said.
“It’s not the arrogance of expertise. And what you see very often is experts tell you what something should be and demonstrate by that, the arrogance of their expertise. They’re not willing to learn something new.”
Prof Loeb made similar claims about a possible alien craft over Oumuamua, another interstellar comet to pass through our solar system, in 2017.
Prof Lintott said wild theories that have no evidence can be dangerous.
“I’m baffled as to why Avi has latched on to this,” he said. “We can look for signs of intelligence in the cosmos. I’m very sympathetic to that idea.
“But you start by looking at things that are odd, and this thing is not odd.”

Democrats release new Epstein photos ahead of DoJ transparency deadline | Jeffrey Epstein
Democrats on the House oversight committee have released a new batch of photos from the estate of convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein, as the deadline for the justice department to release its files related to Epstein looms.
The images, released on Thursday, are undated and lack captions or context. Among them are photographs of what appear to be lines from Vladimir Nabokov’s novel Lolita written on different parts of a woman’s body.
One image shows text written on a woman’s chest, that reads: “Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth”.
The second image shows a passage written on a woman’s foot: “She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock.”
Additional images show the line “She was Lola in slacks” written on a woman’s body, and the passage “she was Dolly at school” on a woman’s neck. The final image shows the line “She was Dolores on the dotted line” written on a woman’s spine.

The release also includes photographs of Bill Gates posing with a woman whose face has been redacted, and of prominent linguist and philosopher, Noam Chomsky, sitting on a plane with Epstein. It has been previously reported that both Gates and Chomsky knew Epstein. Gates has previously said that he made a “huge mistake” in meeting with Epstein.
Other images show Woody Allen, the director, Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s former adviser; and David Brooks, the author and New York Times opinion columnist, among others. In November of this year, Brooks wrote a column titled The Epstein Story? Count Me Out.
Again, no context for these photographs has been provided, and the appearance of these people in the photos is not evidence of wrongdoing.
In a statement to the Guardian, a spokesperson for the New York Times said that “as a journalist, David Brooks regularly attends events to speak with noted and important business leaders to inform his columns, which is exactly what happened at this 2011 event. Mr. Brooks had no contact with him before or after this single attendance at a widely-attended dinner.”
The batch also includes photos of a number of foreign passports, with the information redacted, as well as Epstein’s US passport.
There is also a screenshot of a text message conversation from a unknown sender referring to an 18-year-old from Russia. The sender says “she asks 1000$ for the girl” and then “I will send u girls now”, and another text that says “Maybe someone will be good for J?”.

The release comes less than 48 hours before the 19 December deadline for the justice department to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a congressional bill signed into law last month, requiring the DoJ to release its files related to Epstein.
In a statement after the release Robert Garcia, a US representative and ranking member of the committee on oversight and government reform, said that “oversight Democrats will continue to release photographs and documents from the Epstein estate to provide transparency for the American people.”
“As we approach the deadline for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, these new images raise more questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession,” he said.
“We must end this White House cover-up, and the DOJ must release the Epstein files now.”
The firm behind President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform is merging with a Google-backed energy company in a deal valued at more than $6bn (£4.4bn).
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and TAE Technologies announced the plans on Thursday in a joint statement, which said the move would “create one of the world’s first publicly traded fusion companies”.
Fusion power is a method of generating energy from heat released by nuclear fusion reactions. It could release vast amounts of energy with little associated radioactivity.
The statement said the combined company planned to begin constructing the “world’s first utility-scale fusion power plant” next year, with further plants to follow.
Under the merger both firms will have an equal 50% share in ownership after the deal is completed, which is expected by mid-2026 pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.
The combined company will have a nine-member board including Trump Media’s current chief executive Devin Nunes, who will be co-chief executive of the new firm, and the president’s son Donald Trump Jr.
TAE Technologies provides technology for energy storage and power delivery systems for batteries and electric vehicles. Its umbrella organisation, TAE Life Sciences, develops technologies and drugs for treating cancer patients.
The tie-up with the firm signals a bold and surprising shift for Trump Media, as it moves from social media and financial offerings into the energy sector.
Mr Nunes said his firm was “taking a big step forward toward a revolutionary technology that will cement America’s global energy dominance for generations”.
Calling fusion power the “most dramatic energy breakthrough” since the 1950s, he said Trump Media would bring “the capital and public market access” to help make TAE’s technology commercial viable.
As part of the agreement, Trump Media is to provide up to $200m (£149m) of cash to TAE Technologies when completion of the deal is signed. An additional $100m (£74.7m) will be available once the transaction has been registered.
Surging electricity demand for AI data centers has revived interest in cleaner and reliable nuclear power, including restarting shuttered reactors, expanding existing ones and signing contracts for future small modular reactors.
The joint statement said TAE Technologies had raised more than $1.3bn of funding from other investors including Google and Goldman Sachs.
Trump Media, which mainly generates revenue from advertising on the Truth Social platform, has consistently clocked losses since it began. It posted a decline in revenue and a loss of $54.8m (£40.9m) in the third quarter ending September.
The European Court of Justice (ECJ) on Thursday found that Denmark’s so-called “ghetto law” could be discriminatory, but said that the country’s own courts need to decide if it goes too far.
The law, passed in 2018, allows the government to reduce public housing in neighborhoods where most residents are from “non-Western” backgrounds.
Denmark’s government says the law was meant to help people integrate better by breaking up “parallel societies.”

What does Denmark’s ‘ghetto’ law say?
- Danish law categorizes neighborhoods based on unemployment, crime, education, income, and immigrant population.
- Areas where more than half the residents are “non-Western” and have at least two social problems are called “transformation areas.”
- A government list defines which countries are considered “Western,” including all EU member states.
- Public housing groups must cut social housing by 40% in “transformation areas” by 2030.
- They do this by selling, tearing down, converting, or ending leases on the homes.
- The policy has sparked criticism from rights groups, affected residents, and the United Nations.
What did the ECJ find?
Residents of Copenhagen’s Mjolnerparken estate challenged the measure in 2020, arguing it unfairly targets ethnic minorities. Danish courts then sought guidance from the European Court of Justice.
The ECJ said Danish courts must decide if the criteria specified in the law on public housing are based on people’s ethnic origin and thereby place them at a disadvantage. The ECJ emphasized that under EU law, neither nationality nor country of birth alone is sufficient to determine ethnic origin. Rather, this is assessed on the basis of several factors.
A lawyer for the Mjolnerparken residents facing eviction, Eddie Khawaja, noted that the ruling showed the criterion of 50% “non-Western” residents may seem “neutral on paper, but does not prevent residents from being subjected to direct or indirect discrimination.”
The Danish Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing said the case would now return to Denmark’s Eastern High Court and that the ministry would read the European court’s verdict carefully.

Zelenskyy also conveyed the message in a Ukrainian-language video.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared during a Defense Ministry board meeting on Wednesday that Russia will accomplish its goals, either through diplomacy or military force.
“The goals of the special military operation will undoubtedly be achieved. We would prefer to accomplish this and address the root causes of the conflict through diplomatic means. However, if the opposing side and its foreign patrons refuse to engage in substantive dialogue, Russia will achieve the liberation of its historical lands by military means. The task of creating and expanding a security buffer zone will also be carried out consistently,” Putin said, according to a Kremlin transcript.

What was Donald Trump’s relationship to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and what did the president know about the crimes and allegations surrounding a man Trump once considered a “terrific guy?”
Those questions have been at the center of long-running investigations into allegations and conspiracy theories that the late financier, who died in federal jail awaiting trial on trafficking charges, was intimately connected to a wider network of powerful figures who preyed on young women and girls.
Including previously unreported allegations shedding light on their relationship, The New York Times interviewed more than 30 former Epstein employees and women who identified as victims of his and Trump’s abuse before the men fell out of friendship on their respective paths to the presidency and a litany of federal charges.
At least six women groomed or abused by Epstein or his associate Ghislaine Maxwell were introduced to Trump, according court documents, witness testimony and interviews with The Times. One was a minor at the time. None have accused Trump of wrongdoing.
One woman who has not spoken publicly about her experience told the newspaper that Epstein had coerced her into attending four parties at his home, and that Trump was there for all of them. Epstein directed her to have sex with other male guests at two of those parties, she told The Times.

“I just think it was trophy hunting,” former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Stacey Williams told the newspaper.
Williams has alleged that Trump groped her in 1993 at Trump Tower while Epstein, whom she was dating at the time, watched. Trump has denied her account.
“I think Jeffrey liked that he had this Sports Illustrated model who had this name, and that Trump was pursuing me,” she said.
In candid interviews with Vanity Fair, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles described the pair’s relationship as “young, single playboys together.”
But in response to questions from The Times, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said “this fake news story, which is not worth the paper it’s printed on, is just another stale regurgitation of decades-old false allegations against President Trump.”
“The truth will remain the same no matter how many times The New York Times tries to change it,” she added. “President Trump did nothing wrong, and he kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for being a creep.”
As they developed a friendship from the high-roller party scenes in the 1980s and served as one another’s wingman in Manhattan and Palm Beach, Epstein would often call Trump from his office and listen to the real estate mogul detail his sexual exploits, one of Epstein’s assistants told the newspaper.
With Trump on speakerphone, Epstein appeared to enjoy how uncomfortable it made her to overhear them, she said.
During one call in the 1990s, she recalled the men allegedly discussing a woman’s public hair and whether there was enough for Epstein to floss his teeth with.
Another employee who worked for Epstein throughout the 2000s remembered putting Trump on speaker as the men discussed beauty pageants and modeling shows. Another said Trump would often speak for so long that Epstein would leave the room while his friend was still talking.

The president has not been accused of sexually abusing young girls in connection to Epstein, and has repeatedly dismissed questions about his former friend as a politically motivated “hoax” against him.
But interviews and public records suggest that Trump had interacted socially with women who accused Epstein and Maxwell of abuse.
One woman identified in court records as Jane Doe alleged that Epstein took her to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in 1994 when she was 14. The woman was also among three minor victims who were allegedly abused by Maxwell in 1994 and 1997, according to prosecutors in her federal case. The woman also testified in that case that she competed in Trump’s Miss Teen USA pageant.
“This is a good one, right?” Epstein said to Trump, according to the woman’s separate federal complaint. That case ended in a settlement with Epstein’s estate.
In an email among those released by Congress last month, Epstein claimed he “gave” Trump a 20-year-old woman whom Epstein dated in the 1990s.
A separate Epstein employee from that era also recalled that Trump would occasionally send modeling cards to Epstein to peruse, like a menu, according to The Times.
In another message obtained by Congress, Epstein in 2019 wrote of Trump that “of course he knew about the girls,” though the full context of his email is unclear.
During a deposition in 2010, when asked whether he had ever socialized with Trump and girls under 18 years ago, Epstein invoked his constitutional right not to answer.
“Though I’d like to answer that question, at least today, I’m going to have to assert my Fifth, Sixth and 14th Amendment rights, sir,” he replied.

Despite their apparent failing out, Epstein continued to talk about the president in private, sharing messages with his friends and associates that his one-time wingman was “dirty,” “crazy,” “borderline insane” and “evil beyond belief,” according to emails shared with Congress.
Trump distanced himself from his former friend after Epstein’s arrest in 2019, when Trump was president.
“Well, I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him,” Trump said on July 9, 2019, one day after Epstein’s arrest. “I mean, people in Palm Beach knew him. He was a fixture in Palm Beach. I had a falling out with him a long time ago. I don’t think I’ve spoken to him for 15 years. I wasn’t a fan.”
Asked three days later what contributed to that “falling out,” Trump said “the reason doesn’t make any difference, frankly.”
One month later, Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
The new reporting comes as the Department of Justice faces a deadline to release potentially tens of thousands of documents from cases connected to Epstein and Maxwell.
A timeline for the release of those documents has dominated the president’s second term after he pledged during his campaign to release them.
In July, the Justice Department determined “no further disclosure” in the Epstein case “would be appropriate or warranted,” which only fueled demands for the release of the so-called Epstein files.
Last month, Trump agreed to sign a measure that compels the Justice Department to release them by Friday.

Back in September, Jana revealed on Instagram that she’s halfway to her due date. In her post, the mom-to-be shared a set of recent selfies proudly showing off her bump in the mirror and revealing how far along she was. In the first photo, she could be seen wearing a gray sweater, jeans and a red hat as she gently cradled the bottom of her baby bump.
In a follow-up photo, Jana turned to face the mirror as she once again held her bump. The first snap showed a side profile of her growing belly, while the second showed a more head-on picture.
“Halfway through pregnancy and I’m still in awe! It sure has flown by!” Jana captioned the photo. “I love feeling those tiny kicks these days!”
Jana first revealed her pregnancy on Instagram in August alongside a set of photos of her kissing Wissmann and the pair showing off her growing bump in another.
“We are so excited, January 2026 is going to come with a little bundle of joy joining our family!” they wrote in their caption.
“We’re counting down the days and eagerly looking forward to this thrilling new chapter in our lives!” they added.
The announcement came almost exactly one year after they got married in a “classic, elegant” ceremony in front of 500 close family and friends in Prairie Grove, Ark. The ceremony took place a few months after they got engaged on June 15, 2024.
Several of Jana’s family were in attendance for the big event, including Jessa Duggar Seewald, Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Jordyn Duggar and sister-in-law Abbie Duggar.
Deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump’s friendship was built on conversations about sex and ‘trophy hunting’ beautiful women, according to a former Sports Illustrated model.
The model, Stacey Williams, told the New York Times that the future president groped her in 1993 as Epstein watched.
Epstein is known to have associated with Trump in the early 2000’s, and the President, as well as now-First Lady Melania Trump, were pictured with Epstein and his long-time associate Ghislaine Maxwell at several events.
Based on court testimonies and previous interviews, Maxwell and Epstein introduced at least six women to Trump, including one who was a minor at the time.
None of the women have accused Trump of handling himself in an inappropriate manner.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Daily Mail in a statement that the latest accusations are a ‘fake news story,’ adding that it is ‘not worth the paper it’s printed on.’
Leavitt also added that the claim ‘is just another stale regurgitation of decades-old false allegations against President Trump.’
‘The truth will remain the same no matter how many times the New York Times tries to change it: President Trump did nothing wrong, and he kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for being a creep,’ Leavitt concluded.

The latest depiction of Trump’s relationship with Epstein comes as the Congressional deadline for the Department of Justice to release a slew of files relating to the pedophile’s clients, victims, and associates by Friday.
