NNL: FIFA imposes transfer ban on Heartland FC over unpaid wages

The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has imposed a transfer ban on Nigeria National League, NNL, side, Heartland FC.

The Naze Millionaires have been prevented from registering new players for three transfer windows.

The transfer ban was necessitated following the Owerri club’s failure to fulfill outstanding entitlements to their former player, N’Goran Roland Adjourmani Koffi.

Koffi featured for Heartland during the 2023-24 NPFL season.

According to the letter sent to the club by FIFA, the ban will not be lifted unless the payment is made in full to the player, the transfer ban takes immediate effect.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee (PSAC) had previously ordered Heartland to pay several former players, including Umah Johnson, Esobe Chukwudi, Ezekiel Bassey, Ugochukwu Leonard, and others — their outstanding entitlements.
