Maduka Okoye completed 90 minutes in Udinese’s 3–2 Serie A victory over Lecce, delivering a composed performance in goal.

The Nigerian international was solid throughout the match, with little he could do to prevent the two goals he conceded.

Lecce’s first goal came in the 59th minute through Medon Berisha, who struck a precise right-footed free kick into the top left corner, leaving Okoye with no chance.

The second came deep into stoppage time when Konan N’Dri found space outside the penalty area and placed a low shot past the Udinese goalkeeper.

Both efforts were well taken, and Okoye could do little to stop them.

Aside from the two goals, the 24-year-old had a largely quiet evening but stood out when called upon.

His only save of the night came from Alex Sala, who unleashed a powerful right-footed shot from distance.

Okoye reacted sharply, diving to his left to tip the ball away from danger in what was a brilliant reflex stop.

Statistically, Okoye finished the game with 12 successful passes and eight ball recoveries, showcasing his composure and awareness in possession.

His calm distribution from the back also helped Udinese maintain control during crucial moments of the game.

The match was Okoye’s second competitive appearance of the season, and his performance will be encouraging for both Udinese and Nigeria fans.

With upcoming fixtures against Juventus, Atalanta, and Roma, the next few weeks promise to be a significant test of his consistency and mental strength.

Strong displays in those matches could strengthen Okoye’s case for a national team recall, with Nigeria’s head coach Eric Chelle expected to assess goalkeeping options ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup Playoffs.

His form might earn him an opportunity to challenge Stanley Nwabali who has been other scrutiny lately for the Super Eagles’ number one spot.
