Floyd Roger Myers Jr.Floyd Roger Myers Jr.

Floyd Roger Myers Jr. was best known for playing a young Will Smith in a The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It was a small role, but it connected him to one of the biggest sitcoms of the ’90s. That same decade, he played young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream, the miniseries about the Jackson family’s rise to fame. His last acting credit came in 2000 on Young Americans, and after that, he left Hollywood behind.

But leaving acting didn’t mean disappearing. After stepping away from acting, he shifted his focus toward business and community development. He became an entrepreneur, founding a Maryland-based duct and dryer vent cleaning company called Dr. Duct in 2008. It was blue-collar work, a far cry from the glamour of show business, but work he took pride in.

Floyd also spent 10 years working as an installer of high-end appliances at kitchen and appliances company Bray and Scarff.

He also co-founded The Fellaship Men’s Group, an organization focused on mentorship and support for men trying to navigate life’s challenges. The group’s mission centered on helping men “lead, heal, and thrive,” and Myers was deeply involved. He wasn’t just a figurehead. He showed up, did the work, and made space for others to grow.

Myers was a father of four children—Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler and Knox—whom he shared with his ex-wife and Dr. Duct co-owner, Krista Myers. People who knew him said he was grounded and deeply committed to his family. He wasn’t chasing nostalgia or trying to relive his brief time on screen. He had moved on to something that mattered more to him.

Myers passed away at his home in Maryland on October 29, 2025, at the age of 42. According to his mother, he had suffered several heart attacks in recent years before his death.

He may not have stayed in the spotlight, but Floyd Roger Myers Jr. left a mark in other ways. And for those who knew him beyond that one episode of Fresh Prince, that’s the legacy that counted.
