The Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, deployed at Forward Operating Base Oguma, successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered ₦3.8 million in ransom money in Kogi State. The operation followed credible intelligence on kidnapping activities and ransom demands.
Troops acted swiftly, intercepting the bandits in Achigili Forest. Despite coming under fire, the soldiers engaged the bandits with superior firepower, forcing them to flee and abandon the victims and ransom money.
The rescued victims were debriefed to aid further operations, and the recovered cash was handed back to them. They are currently in safe custody pending handover to the authorities.
