An adorable dog has been abandoned and left to die on the streets after enduring unimaginable cruelty from her previous owner. The poor pooch, named Juni, was found trembling by the roadside by rescuer Lauren Daigle, who has since taken to social media to share the dog’s tragic story.
Lauren, hailing from Nebraska in the US, has made it her mission to seek justice for Juni after discovering the extent of the hardship she had endured. In a tear-jerking TikTok video, she revealed: “I found an abandoned dog along the road. Little did we know that she had been shot in the head twice, skin and bones but alive.”
Choking back tears, she continued: “I was driving down the highway today and I found a stray dog. I took her to the vet because she was bleeding from her mouth.
“The vet said that somebody shot her. The shots missed her brain and eye by mere centimetres.”
Thankfully, since being rescued, Juni has found a warm, loving home where she can finally experience the kindness humans are capable of. The caption accompanying the video reads: “We know more than we can say for now. Now she has a name.”
“Now she has a bed. Now she knows love. Her name is Juni. And she’s surviving for every voiceless animal that couldn’t.”
Lauren has informed the police about the situation and the previous owners have been identified.

She further stated: “She wagged her tail yesterday and it made my day. I cannot wait to see her get the joy back in her eyes. We met with the breeder today, know who the previous owner is, putting together our evidence and giving it to the sheriffs in both counties as our first step.”
Her video, which has garnered more than 11 million views, sparked a wave of comments from users. One user said: “Justice for Juni. Girl, now it’s time to thrive. Thank you for saving this baby.”
Another user chimed in: “Poor baby. She looks broken. Thank you for saving her.”
A third user expressed: “As a dog owner this type of videos are always hard, but as a beagle owner… god. Thank you for saving this sweet angel, she will light your life”.
An additional user commented: “Thank you for saving this baby girl and letting her know that love and safety exist in this world.”
Yet another user remarked: “I don’t know how God could create a human who ended up with so much hate in their heart to harm a defenseless sweet dog. They are a gift for us to help us heal. Why would one harm a healing animal.”
A final user added: “It’s a beagle. They are the sweetest dog. That’s why they use them for research as they’re so forgiving – it’s horrible what they’ve done. I hate cruel people. Thank you for rescuing.”
